Costume Notes – Mamma Mia the Musical
This year Mamma Mia the Musical is celebrating 15 glorious years delighting ABBA fans since it first launched in London’s West End. It is now officially the longest running show at the Prince of Wales Theatre, a disco dance away from us here in Soho!
We’re also celebrating! For well over a decade we’ve been providing Mamma Mia with some of the fabrics for costumes in London, also aiding productions internationally and on tour.

Like many enduring musicals we provide fabric for, costumes are constantly repaired, revised and recreated, so fabrics are often custom made and repeated over a number of years. Lively printed satin and embellished organza, luxurious metal thread brocades, sequinned chiffons and beaded tulles.
For the first time, there are two places in England to see the show currently, as the Mamma Mia international tour has just arrived at Winter Gardens Opera House in Blackpool, with regular performances until September 14th 2014! Check the Mamma Mia website for all Blackpool show information and ticket booking.
Now, time to pull on those platforms, wriggle into some silver stretch lame and enjoy an iconic ABBA track!
